If you have any of the 10 KHz PetSafe in-ground pet containment systems, such as the Comfort Fit, the PetSafe Radio Fence or the PetSafe indoor wireless containment systems, then any of the replacement PetSafe collars will work with your system, EXCEPT the PetSafe Instant Fence Wireless Pet Fence Receiver Collar (PIF-275-19). This PetSafe collar can only be used with the Instant Wireless Fence containment system.
So what are the differences among the PetSafe collars if most of them are interchangeable with the various PetSafe containment systems? The line of Comfort Fit PetSafe collars are all waterproof, with the Comfort Fit Deluxe collar adding four levels of correction over the standard model. If you have a small dog, try the Comfort Fit PetSafe collar for little dogs, which works well for dogs weighing from 6 to 50 pounds.
The PetSafe Deluxe In-Ground Cat Fence Receiver collar (PIG00-11006) is the smallest replacement PetSafe collar on the market and can be used with both cats and toy breeds of dogs (weighing at least 6 pounds). It has four levels of correction and a tone-only option. This PetSafe collar is included with the In-Ground Cat Fence containment system.
The replacement Radio Fence receiver collars include the Ultralight Receiver (PUL-250), the Deluxe Ultralight Receiver (PUL-275) and the Super Receiver for stubborn dogs (PRF-275-17). Only 1% of dogs truly need the Super Receiver collar for stubborn dogs, so America’s Pet Store recommends trying out one of the other receiver collars before resorting to the Super Receiver. The Deluxe Receiver collar includes five levels of correction, whereas the standard Ultralight Receiver includes just one. Both the Deluxe and the Standard Ultralight receivers include short probes for short haired dogs and long probes for long haired dogs.
